Blind Man's Luck(1917)

Suspected of smuggling, Eileen Caverly boards the Connecticut Limited where she befriends Helen Raymond who is traveling with her new husband Bob Guerton. Helen confides they had recently married impulsively, the service performed by a justice of the peace. Shortly after their talk the train is wrecked, Helen is killed and Bob injured. Seizing the opportunity Eileen poses as Bob's wife to avoid capture. Bob’s mother visits him, learning that they were married by a Justice of the Peace, insists they be married by a minister. Bob becomes successful with Eileen’s support, and they have a son. All is well until Cromwel Crow, who knows of Eileen's past, is released from jail. Demanding $5000 for his silence they struggle, Bob enters and in the ensuing fight, Crow is killed. Eileen's secret dies with her adversary, freeing her to continue her life.

Deceit(1923)

Deceit (sometimes referred to as The Deceit) is a 1923 American silent black-and-white film. It is a conventional melodrama directed by Oscar Micheaux. Like many of Micheaux's films, Deceit casts clerics in a negative light. Although the film was shot in 1921, it was not released until 1923. It is not known whether the film currently survives, which suggests that it is a lost film. The 1922 film The Hypocrite was shown within Deceit as a film within a film.

The Spider(1916)

Valerie St. Cyr, seizes a chance for excitement and money, deserts her infant daughter Joan and her impoverished husband and runs away to Paris with the Count Du Poissy. Years later, without knowing that they are mother and daughter, both Valerie and Joan fall in love with artist Julian St. Saens, who rejects the former but becomes engaged to the latter. Enraged, Valerie convinces the count to kidnap Joan, but after she is captured, Joan stabs the count to death. The Silent Witness(1912)

The president of a state bank, guilty of malfeasance bribes the District Attorney to suppress the case. The DA’s secretary takes a photograph of the moment when a considerable sum of money changes hands extorting his employer. The dissolute secretary makes advances on a friend’s wife and as the husband rushes the roue a lamp is upset, plunging the place into darkness. A flash and a shot and the young blackmailer falls to the floor dead. The wife thinks the husband fired in anger, the husband believes the wife shot to protect herself. The District Attorney, the guilty man, is called upon to prosecute and accuses them both. An unexpected witness appears at the last moment and the pair are set free.
